Casual Brunch at Toast Eatery

I don't know what it is about brunch, or why I love it so much...but I do! If I had to choose between breakfast, lunch or dinner for the rest of my life, hands down it would have to be the one meal that includes crispy hashbrowns and bubbly mimosas.

Some girls get excited for a night out, and I get that same antsy feeling for a good brunch date. My stomach growled around 10:30am, but I didn't want to eat anything to save my appetite for a big delicious brunch with Holly. It wasn't long before we met each other on the M-line Muni train and ventured towards West Portal. Surprisingly, for a Saturday, we waited no longer than 5 minutes before we got seated.

Toast Eatery has several locations around San Francisco, including Noe Valley, Nob Hill and West Portal. Being only a few muni stops from home, the West Portal location makes for a great go-to brunch spot for us, and the food keeps us coming back. This location in particular, is cozy with a home kitchen vibe, setting the relaxing ambiance for an intimate weekend breakfast.

The thirst

The hardest brunch decision always comes down to choosing between a refreshing and chilled mimosa, or coffee for a kick of caffeine in the morning. This time, I went with the mimosa.

Holly's went the caffeine route, and her drink of choice was Toast Eatery's hazelnut latte. Her choice was inspired by a little sign right in front of the barista that encouraged visitors to give it a shot!

THE GOOD EATS

When we go to Toast Eatery, Holly and I always go with the Toast Combo because you get a little of everything. Eggs, bacon/sausage/ham, hashbrowns and pancakes or french toast. Since we've been here before, as an ode to trying new places and things, we made a deal to pick something different off the menu.

Holly got the Toast Scrambler (Bacon, Chicken Apple Sausage, Mushrooms, Onions & Cheddar), that came with crispy hashbrowns, and sourdough toast.

My choice? I got the Church Street Omelette, stuffed with Avocado, Spinach, Bacon, Onions & Cheddar. So. GOOD.

The Church Street Omelette also came with my favorite, hashbrowns, and a side of toast. Unless I'm really trying to opt out for a healthy alternative, it's always sourdough!

Another day, another successful brunch. Honestly, any place can win me over with some solid hashbrowns.

Who knows where the city will take us next, but we will be brunching again in the next few weeks!

Until the next breakfast and bubbly!
